RENEWABLE ENERGY - Wind & Solar Power for Colton Residential

home_wind_turbine

Colton's new ordinance related to residential wind and solar energy micro-systems is in effect!  For the first time, Colton residents have the opportunity and guidelines necessary to take advantage of the wind and solar energy micro-system technology available for homes and small businesses.  These residential micro-systems are small in size, yet powerful.  They also do not require any costly upgrades to current residential electrical service to the home.  Increased energy production costs and governmental regulation threaten to drive energy costs significantly higher in the near future, and a grass roots effort within Colton led to the development of the new ordinance.  Colton residents can not only offset the inevitable increase in energy costs such as electricity, but greatly reduce current overall energy costs by installing residential wind & solar micro-systems.  For more information, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. NOTICE: Discharging Sump Pumps in Colton

sump_pumpThe City of Colton Sewer Department is requesting that sump pumps no longer be discharged into the Sanitary Sewer System (through the floor, laundry or toilet drains) to prevent overtaxing the system.  Please pump all discharge out of the house to the yard or curb as the sewer system is regularly at maximum capacity due to the high number of sump pumps discharding into it.  Continuing to discharge into the system will leave the city no alternative but to implement house inspections and levy fines.  Call Colton City Hall at (605) 446-3811 with questions.  Thank you.
