FINANCE OFFICE

Gail was hired as Municipal Finance Officer in November of 1999. She came to the City with over 20 years experience in banking and finance. In 2002, she assumed the duties of City Administrator in conjunction with her Municipal Finance Officers responsibilities.

Her various duties include preparing the annual budget, utility billing, enforcing the laws and ordinances of the city, payroll, preparing the agendas and gathering information necessary for council meetings, recording the minutes of meetings and getting that information to the legal newspaper for publication, elections, month-end and year-end account reconciliation’s, preparing all resolutions and ordinances and a host of other things to numerous to mention.  Gail is the person who answers the phone or greets you as you walk into City Hall. If you have a question, she will find the answer for you or refer you to someone who can.  She attends various meetings and conferences to keep her updated on the latest information necessary for her to perform her duties and recently received her certification in the South Dakota Municipal Clerk Program.
