Welcome to the home of Colton's Energy Independent Community (EIC) Initiative. Our goal is to become the model for comprehensive energy programs in the State of South Dakota and the number one resource for information regarding small wind and solar technology within the region. Powered by a Recovery Act funding grant provided through South Dakota's Energy Department, Colton is the first community within the state to incorporate renewable wind and solar on all city facilities.  We hope to provide all those interested in the industry a wide range of resource information as well as assistance in attempting to duplicate any part of Colton's model initiative within your community.
